Abstract: When talking about the origin of the Canjun drama (参军戏), the key points has been focused on the names of Canjun and its generation age. However, from the origin and morphology of drama, the Canjun official is not the cardinal criterion to judge the origin of Canjun drama. But the part-playing characteristics are the key problem. According to the relevant literature, the story of SHI Dan (石躭说) is still a dramatic life scene, which is the story source of Canjun drama, while the story of ZHOUYan (周延说) has the nature of the play, and recreates the life artistically, based on which the Canjun drama took initial shape and developed.
