Abstract:
Poverty alleviation through tourism is of great significance to the economic, social and environmentally sustainable development in poor mountainous areas. Through the field survey of poor mountain village Hao Tang in the southern part of Henan, this paper analyses the villagers' perception on economic, ecological and social performance because of the tourism poverty alleviation. The results show that the residents in Hao Tang village are willing to support and participate in tourism. They perceive significantly on pro-poor economic performance, obviously on eco-tourism performance while not obviously on overall social performance. In order to promote the sustainable development in pro-poor poverty-stricken mountain tourism, we should strengthen the environmental and cultural heritage protection to achieve the material and spiritual poverty alleviation.
