Abstract:
Regarding the Red Fourth Army's western expedition in 1932, there is less research in the academic community. Among the achievements, the official description focused more on combing out the relationship between the western expedition and Zhang Guotao's wrong route. Affected by this, the academic community pays more attention to the responsibility for the Red Fourth Army withdrew from the Hubei, Henan, and Anhui base areas, while less attention to the objective impact of this western levy, especially its positive significance. From the perspective of the relationship between the western expedition and the long march of the Red Army, this paper investigates the western expedition, and considers that the western expedition of the red fourth army in 1932 was an important historical contribution:it was an important part of the Red Army's long march; it is a successful practice of strategic transfer theory; it played an important role in the long march of the Red Army; and it responded to and supported the Long March of other Red Army troops.
